EcoMatters' Environmental Education Facilitators deliver programmes to help your school become more environmentally sustainable.
The Facilitators are responsible for the delivery of the Enviroschools programme, which is being delivered under contract to Waitakere City Council, as well as for delivery of the environmental education programmes for Tag Out Trust and Keep Waitakere Beautiful Trust.
Enviroschools is a national programme supported by councils across the country. Overall 25% of all schools in New Zealand are part of the Enviroschools network; over 700 schools. EcoMatters facilitates 20 of these Enviroschools in the Waitakere area.
The Regeneration network was created to support young environmental and social change-makers and enable them to move powerfully from secondary schooling, through further education and work experience and into purpose related employment that is an expression of their highest values and aspirations.
EcoMatters Education for Sustainability department runs a range of cluster meetings for teachers and students to support their learning in different areas, throughout the year.
You kids are the future, and where better to get off to a sustainable start than at school? It's the ideal place to learn about growing an edible garden filled with strawberries and other tasty treats. Or to set up a worm farm and create instant school pets! If you need more inspiration organise a school visit to the Sustainable Living Centre.
EcoMatters is committed to creating and sustaining meaningful employment opportunities and currently employs a wide range of people passionate about the environment, people, and the economy.
