EcoDay 2013

When: Sunday, March 10, 2013 - 10am - 4pm

Where: Olympic Park, Portage Road, New Lynn

EcoDay was held on 10 March 2013 on a fantastic Auckland sunny day. The aim of EcoDay 2013 was to provide event attendees with information and inspiration to incorporate green principles and practices into their daily lives.

The event, celebrating its tenth anniversary was attended by approximately 1500 people and showcased over 60 exhibitors. Visitor entry to EcoDay was free and the event was staged at Olympic Park, New Lynn in close proximity to the Trusts EcoHouse and the Sustainable Living Centre, both of which were also open to the public.

The exhibitors were a mixture of businesses selling eco-friendly products or services, environmental and community groups, Council projects, and individuals selling market goods or displaying electronic vehicles (see full list below). There were free half-hour ‘taster’ sessions on Grid-tied Solar PV, Electro-magnetic radiation, Earth Building, Urban Chooks and the premiere of the documentary Convert Me.

Eco-Kids enjoyed face-painting, storytelling, unicycling and recycled art & crafts.

EcoMatters would like to thank all the volunteers that helped make this day a success, our funders - Auckland Council and the Trusts Community Foundation and Haystac PR for their support.
